Wonder if anyone has seen “THE BIDLAKER”?

Described as “A new exclusive on-line journal on cycling history”?

It was due to have been launched on Feb 1st.

It is advertised on the Website of the Bidlake Memorial Trust, no less, as part of a £25 package of membership benefits of The Bidlake CC.

See www.bidlakememorial.org.uk

Looking back to the next previous News item on the Website, I was interested to see a set of photos from the Bidlake Reunion Party by Kevin Fairhead – (I presume that’s the Hounslow & District Wheeler who was second in West Suffolk Whs 12 Hour (254mls) in 1970 when I was 15th (224) and William Sargeant won the TA East event with 209mls).

In particular a photo of Frank Colden at the party – he who was BBAR in about 1962.

SPRING 25 at BRESSINGHAM

I know that Les Young, winner of the recent South-WEST TA 25, is entered – please get your entries in – closing date next Tuesday (17th) or very shortly afterwards.

CHANGE TO LUNCH VENUE – SUNDAY 29th MARCH – AFTER THE EAST 25
Redgrave Cross Keys are no longer doing food, so lunch after the 25 will now be at
THE KING’S HEAD , NORTH LOPHAM
(Thanks to William & Ursula Sargeant for the suggestion)
North Lopham is, like Redgrave, on the B1113, but is just north of the 25 course, rather than just south – regular competitors will recall racing through South Lopham – or more likely. the climbs out of the village, in both directions.
The King’s Head has entries in both the  Good Beer Guide and Pevsner’s Buildings of England…..what more could you ask?
These two books don’t quite sing from the same songbook – GBG says “16th Century” while the architectural guide says “C18 with C19 details” …..but they are also the meeting place – on another day – of the Vintage Sports Car Club, so that is a good sign
It’s a splendid building with a vast thatched roof, that’s for sure.
NOW…. Please do note, that like most popular venues on Sunday lunchtime, they need definite numbers.
So please let me know if you are coming, before 6 pm on Thursday 26th March – after which I will give them definite numbers
Where is the KING’S HEAD?
On the B1113, 2 miles north of South Lopham. Postcode IP22 2NE   Grid ref. TM037834.
Look forward to seeing you there!

Best Wishes to you all
