TA EAST E-NEWS APRIL 6TH 2015

To TA East members and friends

From Ferg Muir

I must hasten to get this edition out – as it is less than a week to the sale in which the trikes belonging to the late Max Scott are to be sold. – On SATURDAY 11th April at Hadleigh nr Ipswich in Suffolk.

Max – whose death was recorded in TA East E-News for Jan 17th this year, was a long-term member of the TA and started his tricycling in Ipswich, where his sister Maureen and brother Mike are still active club cyclists

Regarding the size of the machines I see that the On 3Wheels trike forum

http://on3wheels.myfastforum.org/Sale_of_Max_Scott_s_Tricycles_etc__about863.html

has a bit more information:

“Max was quite tall, the largest tricycle frame is 58.5 cm”.

Anyway – here is the poster put out by the family:

Looking a week further ahead…

Our next TA East Meet will centre on lunch at WIVENHOE – on SATURDAY 18TH APRIL

at the ROSE & CROWN where we had an excellent meet two years ago when we sat outside, in bright sunshine, at tables overlooking the Colne Estuary and framed by the traditional sailing craft that are attracted to the Essex rivers

We can’t be sure if the weather will be so good a second time, but if not, the pub has an interesting interior as well.

It was good to welcome Les Young to EAST events …in our MARCH 25 – which he duly won in a 1:16.

And also to be joined by Vera Staines and daughter Mandy Burchett at lunch at North Lopham.

The Chairman has written up the occasion on the TA Website at http://tricycleassociation.org.uk/the-season-warms-up/ where photos by Rod Gathercole of Swaffham are also on view.

I notice that ERIC MARSH has dusted down his trike again – he rode it in the Eastern Counties CA 10 on 21st March to a time of 29:14……………at the age of 84.

On that note I will send this out and head for bed…

Best wishes to you all
