TA EAST NEWS – 19TH JUNE 2009
To TA East Members & Friends
First – my apologies for the long break since the last edition.
Next – as we are coming up to Midsummer’s Day, we will have our annual meet at
PIN MILL next Friday – 26th June
That will be an evening meet at the Butt & Oyster, the pub by the Orwell estuary in the parish of Chelmondiston. That’s about six miles south-east of Ipswich, just off the B1456.
This is a wonderful place to spend a summer evening and if you haven’t come to one of these meets before I commend the idea of coming along.
I shall be there from around 7pm. Most members eat, but some just drink.
Before that there is the EAST 100, this coming Sunday 21st June.
I’m pleased to say there are 4 entries Martin Badham, off at 6.15am, Ken Usher at 6.16am, Adrian Perkin at 6.32 and Ralph Dadswell at 6.54.
The course is effectively 4 times up and down the A11 between Wymondham and the A11/B1111 interchange at Larling .
Once again the TA East has a marshalling duty to fulfill at Larling. Having escaped to York Rally & the Horwich crit last year, this year I will be fulfilling this commitment.
However it is a long job – 7am to around 12.15pm, and if anyone felt able relieve me in the late morning so that I could ride up to the Event HQ at Morley to report on the finish for the newspapers I would certainly be glad.
Best wishes to you all
