TA WEEKEND, 2/3/4 MARCH 2012

Here’s a reminder that we have this weekend starting in less than 72 hours

To summarise who I think is coming:-

Lea Valley members plus, for both nights, Ian Mackenzie, Mike Moody, Martin Badham and Ferg Muir. Roy Prockter is a “probable”

For the Sunday lunchtime meal at The Swan Gt Easton, for which bookings are needed – the same people, less Mike Moody who is heading west.

If I have missed you – do please get in touch :-

This is a pretty good and unusual opportunity and I do urge members to add their names to the lists

There are plenty of opportunities for members to meet us during the weekend, so long as it’s understood that things do not invariably go according to plan.

Sat Mar 3rd Elevenses at the Prince of Wales, Green Tye, TL 443185 SG10 6JP – that’s between Bishops Stortford & Much Hadham

Lunch at the Nags Head, Little Hadham. TL 435218 SG11 2AX. I notice the address is “Hadham Ford”, which sounds promising. It is due west of B. Stortford

Sunday 4th March Pre lunch drink at The Three Horseshoes at DUTON HILL.TL604268. CM6 2DX Halfway between Dunmow and Thaxted. Mike Keen speaks specially highly of this one . “Cosy village local” says the Good Beer Guide. But no food so…..

Lunch proper (numbers needed) The Swan, GREAT EASTON .near Dunmow TL605255, CM6 2HG “15th Century freehouse” (GBG)

I do hope members who can’t be with us for the whole weekend will consider coming along to one of these stops.

I will try to carry my mobile – 07505 392 538 but PLEASE REMEMBER

***** It takes me at least three minutes to find it and work out how to answer a call when I am expecting one. I usually cut the caller off at least once by accident.

***** At other times I may not check it for weeks at a time

Webmaster’s footnote:- Quote from YACForum regarding the Shaftesbury 200km on the Saturday “It Looks Like Eastern Region Ta have got themselves a convoy!!! If we plan this right the field will be contained behind us…………..” Jane Swain, Mark Brooking and Martin Badham are riding on Purple, Red and Blue trikes – If it rains and the colours run, they’ll all end up purple!”
