TA EAST 25 and REDGRAVE LUNCH MEET RE-ARRANGED FOR SUN 7TH APRIL

Mick Madgett has been able to re-schedule his TA East 25, for Sunday 7th April.
Same time; same place…… as the original start sheet for the event scuppered by the weather on 24th March.

He asks anyone who is unable to compete on the new date to get in touch with him. Mick does not feel able to accept any new entries on April 7th.

However – new bookings are welcome for our Lunch at Redgrave afterwards. I have spoken to the pub and they have happily accepted a provisional booking. Those who booked on 24th – Please let me know if you can or can’t make the new date. Chris H and Mick Madgett are already booked.

But new bookings for lunch are most certainly welcome – to me Ferg Muir.

MENTIONED IN THE COMMONS’ DEBATE ON THE BUDGET……

…was a cyclists’ cafe/workshop in Leicester. An Opposition MP was making the point that her constituent could not get a business loan to launch it, and had had to take out a personal loan instead.
Does anybody know this cafe? Perhaps it hasn’t opened yet. But it made me realise that this is a fast-changing scene and it would be good to publicise those that exist.

As mentioned recently, I know of
The Dandy Horse 27 Magdalen Street Norwich
Look Mum No Hands, 49 Old St London
and I have been to Zappi’s in Oxford. Steve Avery mentioned that the has been a change there – new address seems to be 28-32 St Michaels St OX1 2EB

CAN YOU ADD TO THIS LISTOF MODERN CAFES FOR CYCLISTS ? – suggestions to Ferg.

There is a CARGO TRIKE in TAIPEI illustrated in a one of the recent entries on
KEVIN MAYNE’S BLOG entitled I DO NOT DESPAIR *

idonotdespair.com/

It is a frequently updated and very well-produced blog that is worth keeping an eye on.

It is written by by Kevin, son of former TA East BAR Geoff Mayne
Kevin was born in Bungay – home of the Godric Trike Criteriums. He was Chief Executive of the CTC for – I think – 14 years and is now Director of Development of the European Cyclists Federation

* The blog title derives from a quote from H G Wells

BILL FINCH 25 on 14th April – remember Easter complicates the post service. Entries really need to catch the post on Saturday (31/4/13). I have just posted mine

Best Wishes to you All
