TA EAST E-NEWS APRIL 11TH 2013
To TA East members and friends
From Ferg Muir
CYCLE JUMBLE AT HINGHAM, NORFOLK – this Sunday 14th April
Mick Madgett draws my attention to this:
It will be at the Lincoln Hall on The Fairlands with the doors opening to buyers at 9.30am.
For details of selling or buying contact John on 01953 851561.
I don’t know who is running it but there is a little more information at

The re-arranged EAST 25 and REDGRAVE MEET, 7th April
The sun shone all day. Wind not very apparent. I was actually a bit too hot – a problem happily put up with.
Marcus Hopkins powered to the win in 1:11:23, which also took the handicap award.
There may soon be some photos on the TA website – take a close look at Marcus’s trike and you will see the unusual combination of a lamp bracket boss on the offside front fork and the carbon tri-spoke wheel. There’s about 60 years in age between the frame and the wheel – which is some tribute to the esteem Higgins frames are still held in. (Incidentally, it took some work with a large electric drill to get the front spindle in the front drop-outs)

Afterwards there were six at Redgrave Cross Keys
Tricycle Association 25, Bressingham
: 1 Marcus Hopkins (King’s Lynn CC) 1:11:23, 2 C Hutchinson (Redbridge CC) 1:15:33, 3 D Cannon (TA East) 1:27:54, 4 F Muir (TA East) 1:31:06, 5 M Badham 1:38:19.
Several riders could not make the revised date – not least Ian Mackenzie who rode the Circuit of the Dales finishing in 3:30:16, ahead of Malcolm Waters (Hants RC) 3:37:44 but behind Geoff Booker (Oxonian) 3:01:22.
It is not long to our next East Meet
Saturday 20th April
Coffee at Kersey Mill (IP7 6PD, TM012444)
Note Kersey Mill is just off the Stowmarket to Hadleigh “B” road, and not in the centre of the village
Lunch at Edwardstone White Horse (Mill Green CO10 5PX, TL951428)
The White Horse is an exceptional pub and well worth visiting – but it is hard to find – it is about one mile NNW ofGroton Parish Church – but plotting the above OS grid ref or postcode in advance is recommended.
Hope to see you there!
