We are very sorry to be telling you all that Roy Prockter, the Secretary of the Eastern Region of the TA , died yesterday, 18th June.

His wife tells Ferg Muir that he cycled to an office in the course of his work as an accountant. He locked up his machine, went to Reception, and pressed the bell for attention.

The person who responded to that bell found him collapsed on the floor. Paramedics were unable to revive him. He appears to have suffered a massive heart attack.

Roy looked after the Region’s affairs in the meticulous way that was characteristic of him; he was was one of the most regular attenders at our clubruns and meets and was also a personal friend of mine.

When further information is available, we will, of course, pass it on.
