Good Luck to the tricyclists riding the Championship 24 Hour in East Sussex this weekend – Jane Moore (was Swain), Pete Holland, and Caroline and Andrew Nye.

I should be able to give them a cheer for you all at some time or other during the days and night.

There is an element of stun – doing things on auto-pilot – so soon after Roy Prockter’s collapse and death.

But it would be good to meet, and there are two opportunities coming up to do so:

Thursday 3^rd July

Evening Meet at Butt & Oyster, Pin Mill,  Grid ref TM205380 IP9 1JW , 6 mls SE of Ipswich.

Monday  7^th July

Meet Great Waltham to see Tour de France (4 miles N of Chelmsford) Grid ref TL695135 approx Tour  “caravan” due from 12 noon, race  due 1354-1402       Bar run by “Compasses” at Village Hall.

The following further information is lifted, with gratitude, from the Forty-Plus Essex runs list

Gt. Waltham, in on the route and has a sharp bend right in the village centre which should make an interesting viewing point, obviously that’s Chris Mills (Essex A sec.) will be. There will be various  places doing food and drink including a ‘pop-up pub’ in the Village Hall run by the well known local real ale pub the Compasses.  There is a Tour de France memorabilia etc. display in place now in the windows of The Stores pine shop in the village centre, it’s well worth a look. On the day you can even hire a roadside seat in the churchyard for £10!

Halesworth for tricycle pace-judging conjured up by Cally Callomon of the V-CC on new cycleway through River Blyth watermeadows. All trikes welcome.

Gather at Focus Wholefoods in the Thoroughfare, 3 pm . Afterwards  – evening ride to Supper. Camping available at Walpole

Saturday 6^th September

TA EAST AGM – 12 NOON at STOKE ASH WHITE HORSE

On the A140 Norwich-Ipswich road, 6 miles due south of Diss. Grid Ref TM113709, Postcode IP23 7ET

Meet for coffee   Wortham  Tea Rooms  Just off the A143, 3 mls SW of Diss,  IP22 1PP   10.30am

Lunch available at Stoke Ash afterwards – if we don’t go on too long

Sunday 5^th October
