BOXFORD FLEECE is an old inn in Broad Street, Boxford, CO10 5DX

Boxford is in Grid Square TL9640, and is about half-way between Hadleigh and Sudbury,

Roll your trike through the carriage entrance to find space to park. Website: http://www.boxfordfleece.com/

We will meet for coffee at “The Copper Kettle” at Kersey Mill.

I guess we will be there roughly from 10.45 -11.15am. There is no need to book for elevenses.

Kersey Mill is in the parish of Kersey but not that close to the picture-book village street you may be thinking of.

It is a right turning (if heading north) off the A1141 Hadleigh to Monks Eleigh main road. This turning is about one mile north from where the A1141 leaves the A1071 Hadleigh by-pass.

GWYNETH HOLLAND

Gwyneth, who sadly passed away on 25th November was a good friend of the East Region.

Over very many years she was a regular at our social meets, especially those following East Region time trials and she and Pete hardly ever missed our regional lunch .

Living first in Tunbridge Wells a little beyond our southern boundary, and more recently just to the north of us, near Lincoln, the splendid social weekends she organized made a fine objective for a long weekend trip from Norwich. I first attended Pete & Gwyneth’s “At Home” in their big house in Tunbridge Wells, where one of the bedrooms would be converted into a dormitory. When they moved to Dunston, just south of Lincoln a camping weekend based in the Hollands big garden and orchard became a fixture on the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend.

Beyond our region, Gwyneth had been a long-serving SE Regional Secretary and her 14 year stint as Editor of the TA Gazette was surpassed in duration only by Lew Morris’s 1950-1966 tenure.

A tribute by Pete can be found in the “Comments” on the TA Website beneath the announcement of Gwyneth’s passing. It reminds us that Gwyneth had raced with Pete on tandem and tandem trike and that Gwyneth and Greta Spiers set a 10 mile VTTA Age record on the double barrow.

The funeral will be on Monday 14th December, 1:10 pm at Lincoln Crematorium, Washingbourough Road, Lincoln LN4 1EF and afterwards at Dunston Village Hall, Chapel Lane, Dunston, Lincolnshire LN4 2ET.

There will be a short ride behind the hearse to the Crem from the layby East of the crem just after the double bend on Washingborough Road going west from Cannock hill traffic lights meeting at 12:55 Led by Andy Newham and with some Lincoln Wheelers. After the service refreshments will be served at Dunston village hall LN4 2ET.
