TA EAST E-NEWS  DECEMBER 7TH 2019

To TA East members & friends

From Ferg Muir

Our next TA East meet is just a week away :

SATURDAY DECEMBER 14TH 2019: WYMONDHAM “CHRISTMAS RUN” –

Meet at Wymondham Buttercross at 11:00 am for a short festive ride.

For any who miss the start I mention a rumour that this may include a stop at the Hen House Café:, Cavick Road, just outside Wymondham.( NR18 9PJ )

WEBSITE;  http://annabelseggshed.co.uk/the-hen-house.

For those driving up , the TA East Sec mentions that  Wymondham car parks can be found  in Market Street, Cemetery Lane (near Station), Town Green, Back Lane or Central Hall, but he mentions  “these do tend to get filled up quickly”.

However for official details go to our Captain (North) : Pete Martin 07932 878030

It is very sad to learn of the recent death of

DAVE POUNTNEY – “DP” from TRIKIE TOWERS

DP was a TA Midland Region member, but I particularly mention it here because the funeral is still to come :

at Kidderminster Crematorium, Minster Road, Kidderminster on 23 December at 12.30 and afterwards at the Stourport Sports Club, Kingsway

Those details copied from the AUDAX pages of “Yet Another Cycling Forum”

Failing that put Dave’s name into a search box on YACF

I did not know DP personally – though I know he rode Paris-Brest –Paris several times , including on a trike.

Seen from the East I remember him best for a long-running series of humourous  articles in the TA Gazette under the title “The Diary of GBH”

These were allegedly written by one of Dave’s tricycles and  featured a gently sideways view of its owner and his family and cycling friends.

Best Wishes to You All
