National Executive Meeting February 2021

A brief report on the actions taken at the recent NEC Meeting, held by email over the week beginning Saturday 20th February 2021:

The items listed in part A of the Agenda, comprising housekeeping and reports, were taken as read.

The first two items on the Agenda was the Annual Dinner and AGM; and the Criterium Championship were deferred until the May NEC meeting, when we hope to know more about what the situation will be.

This was followed by a proposal to waive rejoining fees until May, due to the confusion caused by missing items from the Winter Gazette. This was carried.

It was agreed that any material to be enclosed with the Gazette must be sent to the printer via the Editor, having been approved by the NEC.

David Hardy will proceed to investigate possible organisations who would be willing to hold, as part of their collection, the Tricycle Association Archive.

The next NEC meeting May 29th 2021, starting at 2:30pm in Hadnall Village Hall, assuming that restrictions regarding such meetings have been lifted. Otherwise, the meeting will be, once again, held by email.

Any Other Business:

There were three items on AOB:

The Audax Trophy. It was agreed that the Audax Trophy should be awarded on the normal terms, as Audax seemed to be one of the few aspects of the sport that has been less affected by Covid-19.

Jenny Noad Memorial 10:

As the Eastern Region 10 on 1st May has been cancelled, the Jenny Noad Trophy will be awarded to the fastest rider on Scratch in the North Eastern 10 on 7th August, on the O10/ 1. This is also the Mike Dixie Memorial event, that trophy going to the fastest rider on Handicap.

The Wittersham Trophy:

This trophy has been offered to the TA by the Fellowship of Kent and Sussex Cyclists, which is closing. It was decided that the South Eastern Region should accept the trophy, if it is offered to the Region, for awarding within the Region.

The meeting was closed on Saturday 27th February.
