Despite the small field for a Championship event there were representatives from five Regions on the Start Sheet. Furthest travelled was Wayne ‘Mr. Pink’ Baker, and fastest with 29m. 11s. to win the ‘Jenny Noad’ trophy on a hard, windy day on the exposed South Yorkshire course. Chris Goode removed the mudguard from his rare ‘box spanner’ axled ‘Higgins’ to take the ‘Mike Dixie’ Trophy handicap award with a big improvement of 2m. 27s. Good to see Lez Young racing on his tricycle once more. Alan continues to fill the most enthusiastic rider spot, having ridden the ‘Mike Dixie’ ‘10’ over 30 times.

Huge thanks to Martin Bagshaw (Tickhill Velo Cycling Club) and his team of helpers and marshals for running the Tricycle Association event under difficult circumstances; and to Christine and Philip Minto for timing the events. (MP)

  1. It was great to be out & about again, suffering albeit enjoyably and renewing sadly lapsed acquaintances.
Congratulations too Wayne Baker on another Championship win.
