The season warms up?

Last weekend saw tricycles competing in the North Western and Eastern Regions.

On Saturday the North Western Region held their first 10 mile TT of the season at Goosetrey. John Thompson taking the honours of fastest time in 29:24 with Malc MacAllister scooping the handicap award with 16:06. John was also fastest Veteran on Standard. The next day in the East, the rain started with the first man off, Adrian Hills, who led the charge into the strong head-wind on the camberous Bressingham – Thetford course. There didn’t seem to be much help on the return (can the wind blow in two directions at the same time?) but that didn’t stop Lez Young returning to the timekeeper 76 minutes and 38 seconds after leaving him. As your scribe approached the finish, much later, the rain stopped for a while. restarting in time to encourage the post event club run people to drive to the pub for lunch. There, we met Vera Staines and her daughter Mandy for an enjoyable meal. As we drove back to Norwich we crossed the path of the 53 mph storm that caused havoc throughout Norfolk and felt thankful that we weren’t riding home.
