The weekend of 9-10 November saw two superior machines gracing the Crest Tandem Weekend.
Something of a classic, the tandem weekend has been run for some sixty years, usually over the Armistice weekend and covers about 100k a day. This year the ride took us from Roydon Mill on the Essex/Hertfordshire borders over the Chilterns to Buckingham for the night then back on Sunday via a different route stopping to observe Armistice then on to lunch and the blast back to base.
The tandem trike crews were The Trainer (Mark Brooking) and Richard Hull on one machine and The Trainee (Jane Swain) stoked by Kate Churchill (Crisp) on the Jack Taylor. A great weekend with a lot of fun and laughter – and some serious riding too. Maybe next year we could have a couple more tandem trikes. There will be a full write up – and photos – in the next Gazette.
